Tell Congress to Protect SNAP to Protect Jobs
The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is a vital program that protects working families from hunger and provides jobs for grocery store and meat processing workers like us.
In fact, 80% of SNAP dollars are spent at traditional grocery stores where UFCW members work. But SNAP doesn’t just keep business coming into our stores and plants, it also helps to reduce poverty and keep our communities fed.
More dollars in the hands of SNAP recipients means more money spent at grocery stores. That means more hours and higher wages for grocery store workers like us!
It’s time for your member of Congress to hear directly from you – the essential workers who keep communities fed. Share your message to oppose any efforts to cut SNAP benefits, apply work requirements, place stricter requirements on who can qualify for benefits, or further limit what foods can be purchased.
