Candidate Comparison
Senate
Bob Casey (D)
Dave McCormick (R)
Casey cosponsored the PRO Act, which will strengthen the right to organize and protect workers who fight for better wages, benefits, and safer workplaces. [1] | McCormick has not commented on the PRO Act. [4] |
Casey voted for the American Rescue Plan, which protects the pensions of over 200,000 UFCW members. He voted for the Inflation Reduction Act, which reduced prescription drug prices and capped seniors’ insulin costs at $35. [2] | McCormick was critical of the American Rescue Plan. He opposed the Inflation Reduction Act saying, “we’ve got to roll that back.” [5] |
Casey sponsored a bill to increase take-home pay for hard working people by creating a tax deduction for union dues and expenses. He also cosponsored the Food Secure Strikers Act, which ensures that striking workers receive access to SNAP benefits and prevents strikers and their families from being discriminated against. [3] | McCormick has not taken a position on number of key bills that impact the food industry. During his time as CEO of two organizations, he presided over layoffs of hundreds of employees and the outsourcing of American jobs to other countries. [6] |
