BOSTON, MASS. – Today, the United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW) Locals 1445, 328, 1459, and 791, which represent 21,000 workers across Massachusetts, released a statement endorsing Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey and Lt. Gov. Kim Driscoll in their reelection campaign.
Gov. Maura Healey said in a statement:
“Throughout our first term, UFCW has been an invaluable partner in our efforts to improve working conditions, secure fair pay, and protect workers’ rights throughout Massachusetts. Unions provide the dignity, respect, and support that workers deserve, and I’m honored to have their continued support in our campaign for reelection.”
Lt. Gov. Kim Driscoll said in a statement:
“We’re grateful to have the support of UFCW behind our campaign to fight for working families across our state. UFCW is a fantastic partner that knows what it takes to get things done for workers in Massachusetts, and we’re excited to work together to continue pushing policies that help our workforce thrive.”
UFCW Local 1445 President Fernando Lemus, UFCW Local 328 President Timothy Melia, UFCW Local 1459 President Jeff Jones, and UFCW Local 791 Secretary-Treasurer and Political/Legislative Director Peter Derouen said in a joint statement:
