Senate
Ruben Gallego (D)
Kari Lake (R)
Gallego cosponsored the PRO Act, which will strengthen the right to organize and protect workers who fight for better wages, benefits, and safer workplaces, saying “unions are essential to rebuilding Arizona’s middle class.” [1] | Lake has not commented on the PRO Act. She has said she would arrest OSHA officials who aim to keep Arizona workers safe. [4] |
Gallego voted for the American Rescue Plan, which protects the pensions of hard working people, including over 20,000 UFCW members. He also voted for the Inflation Reduction Act, which reduced prescription drug prices and capped seniors’ monthly insulin costs at $35. [2] | Lake was critical of the American Rescue Plan. She also opposed the Inflation Reduction Act. [5] |
Gallego supports legislation to crack down on corporations that drive up the costs of housing and rent and has championed a downpayment assistance program for many first-time homebuyers. [3] | Lake has not taken a position on a number of key bills that impact the cost of rent and housing. [6] |
